My first comment is on rickys DA where he is looking at music in games and sound design he said that his case study is going to be on battlefield one that i believe has some really sound design in the vechiles and weapons but the sound track is fairly one note or not a important part of the game. i suggested that looking at a video game that the music elevates the game to anohter level linking to dark souls boss fight where music in main areas is quiet or not there to entering a boss fight to be greeted with a great orchestral piece of music that dosent just make in more intense it makes the game better as a whole. i thought it would be intresting to look at a game where music was less important but sound design was more important to darksouls where sound design is ok but the music elevates the games.
the next DA i commented on was parisperception where she is looking at addictive games with a case study into fortnite and minecraft. as a hardcore epic game i love this idea, not having being addicted to either game but i have certantly sunk hundred of hours into minecraft it will be intresting to look at some of the information she presents. i honestly think she supplied enough sources on her own but i suggested that she looks at trends in popularity seeing that since minecrafts popularity died off for a few years that now with its surge of popularity again if similar age groups as fortnite players getting addicted or is it the returning players who get hooked again for nostalga.
my last comment on STEPH JORY DA the role of power the satisfaction it brings to players. this was a very intresting topic and im intrested to see what her findings are to see if i fall into some of those traps myself. the role of power in the gaming community is something that really makes the diverse some use there power in games to help others learn and some use it to brag and make fun of other while doing it. so making players feel good about themselves and make them feel like they play well but it can be artifically made. this is something that may be intresting to look at is how epic games is putting bots in fortnite that i dont believe it is for lack of player that is gamers like to feel like they are good at the game so they keep playing this is why i linked an article about this very thing.
