My digital artefact has been a roller coaster of failure and where the highs were low and the lows were very low. my first project was a parody page that was meant to make jokes these were very popular for a period of time and are basically using a popular characters as a easy recognisable name that you can use to make a meme page. my second was editing music to sound as if it was a vinyl that you could listen to, it was meant to simulate the authenticity of analogue music. my third project i decided to go with something simple that was streaming on twitch i did this with a group of friends using them to help advertise through social media to grow a community. we did this for a few days and gain 12 follower over it not very much but we managed to communicate with people from other countries who followed us.
my parody page was going to be a generic meme page but using a popular characters name to push it i did a few post but fell off when my laptop and computer both died in the same week very convenient i know. i could use framing the character to warp its appearance through the memes this in one would add to the comedic value of the posts as you would not believe this character would do this. my process in making the content varied i sometimes took screenshots and other times i Photo shopped a big mess onto the screen. https://www.facebook.com/Godzilla-adventures-2203056426449197/?modal=admin_todo_tour
My second project i made was “digital vinyls” this was a simple idea that was me editing audio adding crackling and popping into it. as a collector of vinyls i thought it would be a good idea that making it accessible while walking down the street or away from home. the process for making these were pretty easy it was just adding a extra layer of sound over a song. this worked well in the idea of hyper reality as through the need of physical body you are able to enjoy the best of everything by simulating it and the idea of a digital vinyl is a brilliant idea as you could always have it. unfortunately it was a big failure as you tube newer copyright system took down most of the videos i uploaded the minute i uploaded them. i did manage to keep one up.
My final and most simple idea was just streaming. ive been doing this with my friends as it is something we always wanted to do it together and this was a good reason to start it. through this we have conversations about games and stories from our lives going through multiple messages and themes through one video. it is really easy to do i use OBS to record and live stream video to twitch and we are planning on uploading are best bits to you tube soon. we already have gained a little community of about 12 people and have had 87 unique viewers check in. we have also had people clip parts of our streams for my page as well. https://www.twitch.tv/keencasualty
