From the time i was able to understand messages, opinions and entertainment i had the perception that the message was the most important part of the medium is the message but today of all days my mind was blown when Ted revealed that the medium is the message.
this has been the case from the beginning of time when the only communication was oral to digital age where everyone communicate in audio, text, video & the unofficial language of the internet MEMES. Marshall McLuhan also stated that the form the medium takes is more important then the actual message, throughout history from dictators controlling the masses through radio & television, to journalist using mainstream media to start revolutions withing their countries like in the Vietnam war. and now to the internet where any person is able to effect the outcome and inform the masses faster then ever.
The modern medium of the internet has revolutionised the world we reside in in nearly every way but mostly the way media is created distributed and response to. Now the feedback form content creates more content with hugh platforms having having people respond to each other with content. “This fact merely underlines the point that “the medium is the message” because it is the medium that shapes and controls the scale and form of human association and action”
This concept is extremely challenging for me and really looking forward to expanding my knowledge next week.
