On july 4th 2014 a great war began. between tumblr and 4chan, tumblr made the first strike posting feminist memes, puppies and selfies were spread all over the website to try and defeat these “fascists” but 4 chans defences were to strong having won many wars through the years. the counter strike 4chan caused was so powerful that it caused the vast majority of tumblr users to hop of the website for days and those who stayed were hopeless against the porn, racist and anti feminist memes sand gore posted on the popular tags.
this really shows the extent of what memes can do if used by the masses causing one of the biggest websites in the world to halt all production and posting of memes and content for many days.
